HUMBLE, Texas - A Harris County Precinct 4 deputy who was shot during a chaotic gunfight at a Humble-area apartment complex has been released from the hospital.

In a statement, Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman called Deputy Dante Zepeda's progress "a milestone" and said his recovery will continue.

The agency also thanked first responders and community members for their support and asked people to keep Zepeda and his family in their thoughts as he heals.
