For more than five years, Samsung Austin Semiconductor college interns have volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club of East Williamson County.

During the week of July 13-17, about 100 Samsung college interns and 120 members of the club teamed up for two days of activities ranging from sports to STEM-based pursuits - science, technology, engineering and math.

According to club director Gerald Walker, Samsung has been doing this "since they announced that Taylor would be a future chip-fabrication site." Samsung officials in November 2021 released news the company would be building a semiconductor plant in Taylor.
