COURTESY Santana Montez and Jesse Ramos with the Floresville Masonic Lodge No. 515 present a Lamar Medal May 21 to Braelynn Brooks, a 7th grader at Floresville ISD.

Mirabeau Lamar is considered the Father of Public Schools in Texas and the Lamar Medal is given in his honor annually to a 7th and 8th grader in both the Poth and the Floresville school districts.

Braelynn also received a $25 gift card.
