ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - Midland Mayor Lori Blong is inviting the community to gather for a time of prayer Friday evening following the deadly mass shooting incident that left one person dead and multiple others injured.

In a social media post, Blong announced a community prayer gathering scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Centennial Park."Our city has been through a lot today," Blong wrote.

"I believe the answer to all of it starts on our knees."The gathering is open to members of the public who wish to come together in prayer and support for those impacted by Friday's shooting.
