A Bandera couple has received national recognition for creating a backyard designed to support native wildlife and pollinators.

Harris and Cynthia Anderson recently earned Certified Wildlife Habitat designation from the National Wildlife Federation for their property, recognizing efforts to provide food, water, shelter and nesting areas for wildlife.

According to the National Wildlife Federation, certified habitats help improve local ecosystems by supporting native pollinators, songbirds, hummingbirds, butterflies and small mammals.
