AUSTIN, Texas - The University of Texas at Austin has removed a statue of civil rights leader Csar Chvez from its campus, a decision that comes amid growing scrutiny following recent sexual abuse allegations made against the late labor leader.
Crews were seen taking down the statue on Thursday.
A university spokesperson said the decision was made internally, while noting that UT does not typically notify students or staff about facility changes.
