TOMBALL, Texas - The owner of Banditos Baseball Club - a decades-old Tomball company that sponsors youth and high school baseball programs - is recovering after being struck in the head by a foul ball during a game Thursday, according to his family.

In a statement posted to the club's official Facebook page, the DeLeon family said Ray DeLeon was hit in the back of the head and suffered a "severe concussion and significant head trauma." Because of the seriousness of the injury, the family said he was airlifted for emergency medical care.

"We would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support, prayers, and well wishes following a very scary accident," the family wrote.
