Fredericksburg City Council took its first detailed look at the proposed FY2027 budget during a special workshop on Tuesday, July 14.
City staff presented revenue projections, departmental funding requests, personnel needs and potential capital improvement projects as officials began working through the spending plan that will guide the city's finances for the coming year.
The workshop included discussions on property tax revenue, sales tax projections, employee compensation and infrastructure priorities, with council members continuing to refine the proposal before adopting a final budget is expected in September.
