Special to the Bulletin AUSTIN - As summer travel ramps up and Fourth of July celebrations approach, the Texas Department of Transportation is urging motorists to make plans for a sober ride home and avoid driving while impaired.

No Regrets.' campaign coincides with a nationwide enforcement period that runs through July 6, when law enforcement agencies across Texas will increase patrols aimed at identifying impaired drivers and reducing alcohol- and drug-related crashes.

According to TxDOT, 1,254 people died in impaired driving crashes in Texas in 2025, an average of three deaths each day.
