GRAYSON COUNTY, Texas (KXII) - Soccer's biggest tournament is kicking off in the United States this week for the first time since 1994, and officials are warning fans to watch out for scammers."The World Cup tickets are going to be one of the hottest commodities in the world," said Capt. Jeremy Cox.
Authorities are urging fans still trying to get tickets to purchase through reputable providers and avoid sending money directly through payment apps to individuals."Purchase your tickets through a reputable provider because when you send money direct through to a pay app or something like that to an individual, it can become impossible to get that back," Cox said.
Officials recommend checking the site and seller before buying.
