The city of New Braunfels has officially opened a series of natural-surface trails at what is currently being called Northwest Park, a 140+ acre public park purchased by the New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation in 2024, making it the city's largest public park.
In recent weeks, New Braunfels City Council approved a lease agreement for that property, allowing for the installation of approximately 3. 1 miles of natural-surface trails, along with minor improvements for parking, portable restrooms, and a primary trailhead.
The initial group of trails are rated as low difficulty, making them accessible for most users, with natural-surface paths that follow the land as it exists today.
