RWKC program chair Kellie Early's introduction of 21st Congressional District candidate Mark Teixeira described the candidate as a man who believes strongly in "God, country and family." Teixeira, a retired professional baseball player, entered the political arena to take the seat in Congress vacated by Chip Roy, who lost his bid to become Texas attorney general in the March Republican primary.
"His family shapes his priorities. He leads with character and his faith gives him his moral foundation," Early said.
Teixeira began his remarks to the luncheon guests by saying his appearance in Kerrville was more than just a "get out a vote speech for me" but also stressed the importance of Republicans winning the U.S. Senate seat in the race between Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico.
