(Aging Untold) - Cavity prevention involves more than just keeping your hands out of the candy jar, a dentist says.

Dr. Elise Sarvas, a Mayo Clinic pediatric dentist, said many families don't realize that other regular snacks can promote cavities too.

A cracker can be as bad for dental health as a candy bar because of a type of carbohydrate called simple carbohydrates, Sarvas said.
