MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- An intoxicated driver was arrested after a hit-and-run crash into a deputy who was on the scene of a traffic stop for another intoxicated driver, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said.

MCSO said a deputy was investigating the initial intoxicated driver in the 14000 block of I-45 on Saturday morning when a second deputy arrived to assist.

The assisting deputy positioned his marked patrol vehicle with emergency lights activated to protect the investigating deputy, the sheriff's office said.
