ANDREWS, Texas (KOSA) - Permian Regional Medical Center leaders tackled critical budget woes and tough questions over its surgical care during a special board meeting Thursday.

Board members said they are in a better financial position than in the spring, pointing to over $4 million in reduced expenses since April following recent layoffs and a hiring freeze.

But cash on hand is only projected to last until mid-November.
