MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - Midland elected official Brandon W. Hodges is calling on the Midland County Commissioners Court to seek the immediate resignation of County Judge Terry Johnson, claiming Johnson violated the public trust by releasing a citizen's sensitive personal information.

In a letter, Hodges said Johnson "breached the public trust and his legal duties" by obtaining and publicly releasing a citizen's identifying information, including Social Security numbers and dates of birth, from a system under the control of the county judge's office.

Hodges described the conduct as identity theft under Texas Penal Code 32. 51 and said it violated the standards expected of an elected official."As an elected official myself, I understand that roughly half the citizens will disagree with any given decision," Hodges wrote.
