WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A former Waco man was convicted Tuesday of sexually abusing a young family member for four years beginning when the girl was 4.

Jurors in Waco's 19th State District Court deliberated about six hours before finding Timothy Wayne Jones, 44, guilty of continuous sexual abuse of a young child, a first-degree felony punishable by up to life in prison with no parole.

The jury returned its verdict around 9:30 p.m. The punishment phase is set to begin Wednesday morning.
