A Kendall County judge sentenced Blake David Wampler last week to 10 years probation in connection with a fatal crash that killed a teacher along FM 473 in Kendalia in 2024.

Judge Kirsten Cohoon of the 451st state District Court handed down the deferred adjudication following a two-day presentencing hearing in the death of Kim Brasher, 55. Wampler was also ordered to complete 500 hours of community service, pay a $10,000 fee in addition to court costs, and submit to drug and alcohol testing as part of the terms of his probation.

According to court records and testimony during the proceedings, Wampler, now 29, was driving a Chevrolet truck on the wrong side of 473 in a no-passing zone when his vehicle collided with Brasher's Toyota Prius.
