A baby was anonymously surrendered at a Safe Haven Baby Box located at a fire station in The Woodlands, triggering a silent alarm that alerted firefighters.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - A baby was anonymously surrendered at a Safe Haven Baby Box at a fire station in The Woodlands Monday.
The Woodlands Fire Department says it happened at Station 6, where the box is located.
When a baby is placed inside the climate-controlled box, a silent alarm immediately alerts firefighters, allowing personnel to respond within minutes while preserving the anonymity of the individual surrendering the child.
