Atascosa County officials issued a clarification Aug. 7 regarding a previous statement about a proposed data center project and the county's involvement in discussions with prospective developers.

The clarification comes after weeks of public questions surrounding data center development in Atascosa County and a June 15 statement issued by the county.

"The County's intent with the original statement was to address the citizens' concern voiced about a specific project, "Energy Ranch", the focus of widespread public discussion at that time. The statement reflected the information known by the County regarding that particular project at that point in time," stated the county in its immediate release.
