Trustees of the Kerrville ISD learned that projected $4 million budget deficit for next school year has been reduced to $2. 6 million through staff reductions and other cuts during Monday's regular board meeting and learned the details of a new virtual learning pilot program for a select group of juniors and seniors that will be launched by the district in August.

Budget deficit reduced KISD Chief Financial Officer Jarrett Jachade gave the board 2026-2027 Budget Update with good news that the projected $4 million deficit predicted earlier will only be a $2. 6 million deficit for the 2026-2027 budget year for the school district.

"There's no winning at this point, we just need to position ourselves to continue to play in the game," Jachade said.
