The Zephyr Bulldogs came a couple of points shy of winning the Zephyr Invitational cross country meet Wednesday, notching 36 points, just one off the pace of meet champion Ballinger (35).

Bulldog Spencer Marwitz was the top individual on the boys side, finishing in a time of 17:56. 5, followed by Reese Hamm (7th, 19:48. 6), Ethan Prochaska (11th, 20:20. 1), Slade Butler (15th, 20:31. 9), Cooper Walls (16th, 20:51. 9), CJ Byers (41st, 23:19. 3), and Hutson Dozier (46th, 24:09. 08).

In girls action at the Zephyr Invitational, the host Lady Bulldogs also placed second as well with 45 points, just three back of first-place Eastland (42).
