Two witnesses in a van during an ICE shooting that killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo have been certified as victims of alleged violent crimes by the Harris County District Attorney's Office.

Two men who were inside the van when federal immigration agents shot and killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo have been formally certified by the Harris County District Attorney's Office as victims of alleged violent crimes, according to newly filed federal court documents.
Daniel Tirado Pantoja and Jos Trinidad Rojas Pliego remain in federal immigration custody at the Montgomery ICE Processing Center in Conroe.
Both men have filed petitions in federal court seeking their immediate release.
