'Fiddler on the Roof' set for this weekend

Playhouse 2000 in Kerrville will present the Broadway musical 'Fiddler on the Roof' at the Cailloux Theater eight times from July 24 through August 9.

Playhouse 2000, Kerrville's community theater, is offering the world-famous, award-winning Broadway musical "Fiddler on the Roof" in the Cailloux Theater eight times from July 24 through Aug. 9.

The original production of "Fiddler on the Roof," written by Joseph Stein, Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, earned nine Tony Awards and was the first musical to run more than 3,000 performances.

The musical has returned to Broadway five times, and theaters around the world have continuously produced it since 1964.
