During Tuesday morning's meeting, the Brownwood City Council approved the purchase of a new landfill dozer, not to exceed $349,000, contingent on the sale of the current dozer that was among items declared as surplus.

Proceeds from the current landfill dozer, which Public Works Director Henry Wied anticipated at over $100,000, will be used to pay down the note while all other proceeds are to be placed in the capital improvement fund.

The current landfill dozer is a 2022 CAT D4 with 5,740 hours that been in the shop for repairs from November 15, 2025, to June 11, 2026.
