HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A shooting is being investigated near the Memorial Park area after a man was injured on Tuesday night, according to police.

The Houston Police Department said that at about 10:30 p.m., officers responded to 55 Waugh Drive, where the victim went to a security guard for help.

"Our security guard in this building is the one who called us. He stated that he saw the male running from this direction over here on the other side of the building, ran up here, ran inside the building, and said he needed help -- said he was shot," HPD Lt. R. Willkens said.
