AUSTIN, Texas (KLTV) - Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) has designated Lake Meredith, near Amarillo, as fully infested with invasive zebra mussels.
This designation signifies that an established, reproducing population of these invasive mussels is present in the lake.
TPWD said partners with the U.S. Geological Survey's Zebra Mussel Monitoring Program detected possible microscopic zebra mussel larvae in late May from three sampling sites in the lake.
