Rain returns late this week driven by sea breezes

Rain and storms brought up to 4 inches of precipitation to the western Rio Grande Valley, including Starr and Hidalgo counties, driven by a frontal boundary and southern moisture.

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) - Sunday was a rainy and stormy night for the western half of the viewing area.

The rain was due to a frontal boundary to the north that combined with moisture from the south.

This led to rain totals as high as 4 inches in Starr County, where Hidalgo County saw 2-3 inches.
