LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - A Lubbock mother and daughter are preparing to take part in a cycling event this weekend aimed at raising funds for multiple sclerosis research - a cause that hits close to home for their family.

Multiple sclerosis, or MS, is a disease that breaks down the protective covering around nerves.

Nearly one million people in the United States live with the incurable disease.
