First Methodist Church in Marshall held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new sanctuary, nearly two years after a fire caused by electrical issues destroyed the original building in December 2024.

MARSHALL, Texas (KETK) - First Methodist in Marshall celebrated the groundbreaking of its new sanctuary on Wednesday night.

Weeks before Christmas in 2024, a fire destroyed the "First Methodist Church" in Marshall.

Fire investigators later determined it started due to electrical issues.
