A man is expected to recover after San Antonio police said he was shot in the leg during an encounter with two men just south of downtown.

The shooting happened near 3 a.m. Monday in the 300 block of McKinley Avenue, not far from Roosevelt and Steves Avenues.

Police said the victim, a man in his 30s, was approached by two men before he was shot.
