NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - For the first time in a decade, Nacogdoches County is raising the cost of their healthcare plan for all of their employees.
Laurie Brown, the county's human resources director, explained that this isn't just a Nacogdoches issue."Smaller counties tend to be able to be more stable because they have few employees, but no, counties and it's just not counties its employers in general are always having to look at 'what do we have to do to be able to afford premiums,'" Brown said.
At Tuesday's commissioners court meeting, commissioners worked to find an affordable option for the county and their employees.
