A body was found floating in a bayou near the Gulf Freeway in Houston on Monday morning, with the scene turned over to Houston Police Department for investigation.

A body was found floating face down in a body of water near the Gulf Freeway Monday morning, according to the Houston Fire Department.

HFD crews responded around 10:19 a.m. to the 6300 block of Gulf Freeway for a water rescue call.

Firefighters located the body and turned the scene over to the Houston Police Department.
