WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Waco woman who lured a Bellmead man to his death and then helped her accomplice dump the victim's body in the Brazos River was formally sentenced to 20 years in prison Tuesday.
Kimisha Denise Mathis, 41, pleaded guilty to murder June 3 in Waco's 19th State District Court in exchange for a recommendation from the McLennan County District Attorney's Office that Judge Thomas West sentence her to 20 years in prison.
West accepted her guilty plea earlier this month during a status hearing but delayed formal sentencing until Tuesday so the victim's family could be present.
