WACO, Texas (KWTX) - It sounds simple enough: when a new utility pole goes up, the old one should come down.

But for Waco resident Douglas Pascal, a simple replacement turned into an 18-month headache as he found himself caught in the middle of a communication breakdown between companies.

The issue began a year and a half ago when a drunk driver knocked down an old phone pole on Pascal's street.
