(Aging Untold) - Hormone therapy can help some women by easing symptoms of menopause.
Health care providers no longer use the term "hormone replacement therapy." The treatment is now called hormone therapy, reflecting a change in medical understanding that it's about providing relief during a natural life transition for most women.
"We call it hormone therapy, and the reason for that is we are not trying to replace what the ovary used to make," Dr. Stephanie Faubion, director of the Center for Women's Health at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, said.
