A routine traffic stop in Nevada turned into a major drug bust after a trained narcotics detecting K-9 alerted deputies to the presence of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine in the vehicle.
What we know: The Department of Justice (DOJ) says on Tuesday, a deputy with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop of a pickup truck on U.S. Highway 93 near Ash Springs, Nevada, that was being driven by Francisco Joel Garcia Farias, 26, after the deputy observed the vehicle traveling above the posted speed limit.
The DOJ says during the stop, a trained narcotics detection K-9 alerted the deputy to suspected controlled substances in the vehicle.
