CROCKETT, Texas (KTRE) - Emergency responders recovered the body of a Houston-area teenager from a vehicle found submerged in a creek Saturday afternoon.

According to Houston County Sheriff Zak Benge, dispatch received a call at 11 a.m. concerning a teenager who was overdue to reach his home near Houston after leaving Houston County Lake.

At approximately 1:45 p.m., the Houston County Emergency Management coordinator was traveling on FM 229 and noticed damage to a guardrail just off of Loop 304.
