Nacogdoches, Texas (KTRE) - Hugging Hearts Solutions hosted its National Diaper Awareness Walk-A-Thon to bring the Nacogdoches community together and raise awareness of challenges many families face in acquiring diapers.

According to the National Diaper Bank Network, one in two families struggle to provide enough diapers for their children, and they are then exposed to more potential health risks."It's very important because you have a lot of people walk out here alone," Hugging Hearts Solutions CEO Delexie Brown said.

"And that's basically my vision. No parent walks alone. Make sure no single parent walks alone ... these young parents, they get free phones from government assistance, but they don't get free diapers. So now they see that I don't live up to that image of what they doing on the internet. They feel like nobody's going to help me.
