At the next regular New Braunfels City Council meeting on Monday, July 13, council will discuss a possible modification of the downtown managed parking system to grant resident river pass holders free parking for the first three hours.
The item was placed on the agenda by Mayor Michael French, who was outspoken about downtown paid parking on his campaign trail -- at one point suggesting he would eradicate the system altogether if it meant helping small businesses, The Herald-Zeitung previously reported.
In February, city council heard a parking update and considered modifying the system.
