TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - In 2016, Cricket Koch's mother, Janis Sample, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia.

"At the beginning, every day was Friday," Koch said.

"It was kind of a ongoing joke with the family. If we asked her what day it was, it was Friday."For the last five years, Koch has been taking care of her mom, who needs assistance with daily activities, such as brushing her teeth and getting dressed.
