A man was struck and killed by a train early Saturday near northwest Houston after lying on the railroad tracks.

A man was struck and killed by a train early Saturday near northwest Houston, according to Houston police.
The incident happened around 2:20 a.m. in the 5600 block of West Tidwell Road, Lt. Pulido with the Houston Police Department said.
Pulido said a man was lying on the railroad tracks when the train's conductor saw him and sounded the horn.
