ARDMORE, Okla.

(KXII) - To participate in this year's Oklahoma primary elections, voters must be registered with that party."Even if you don't participate in the primary, you can still vote in the general election," said Misha Mohr, director of communications and public information for the Oklahoma State Election Board.

The purpose of the primary elections is so that political parties can select the candidate they want for the general November election ballot."We do have some of these where only Republicans filed, then generally speaking, whoever wins that election will be deemed the elected official, unless it goes off into a runoff election," Mohr said.
