The Pleasanton Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to launch a new School Marshal Program and delegated authority to execute a state-mandated attendance credit contract during its regular meeting on Monday evening, securing key safety and financial measures just days before students return to the classroom.

The approval of the School Marshal Program marks a major step in the district's ongoing efforts to enhance campus security.

District Director of Safety and Security Michael Gilbert reported strong community interest in the program, which will work alongside existing district law enforcement officers to bolster campus defense.
