The Howard County Commissioners Court spent much of Monday focused on planning for the county's next fiscal year budget while also receiving updates on ongoing renovations at the Howard County Library.

A budget workshop concluded the meeting agenda, with commissioners and county staff working through budget issues from late morning into the afternoon.

Much of the discussion centered on the county's various insurance costs and coverage needs as officials begin shaping the 2026-27 fiscal year budget.
