Golfers, oilfield professionals and community supporters gathered Thursday at Comanche Trail Municipal Golf Course for the fifth annual Sarge Summers Hack-A-Thon Golf Tournament and Concert Bash, a fundraiser aimed at providing college scholarships for students across the Permian Basin.
The event is hosted by the Permian Basin chapter of Oilfield Connections International, a nonprofit networking organization that raises money throughout the year to support charitable causes and educational opportunities.
"We're really just a networking group, but what makes us a nonprofit is that we donate to other nonprofits," said David Chavez , representing the Permian Basin chapter of Oilfield Connections.
