Stella and Brian Garwood (center), owners of the Kincaid-Garwood Ranch, show off the Hunter Education Team of the Year award presented to them and team members (left to right) David Rios with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and Southwest Texas College Wildlife Program instructors Dean Wiemers and Daniel Tidwell.

Rios announced the award Sept. 17 at the wildlife program's annual advisory board meeting.

Enrollment in the Southwest Texas College Wildlife Management program has declined in recent years, despite steady job demand from area ranch owners for the program's students.
