LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Scurry County is now under close state observation after the Texas Animal Health Commission reported a New World Screwworm case in nearby Mitchell County.

The other counties included in the infested zone are Fisher and Nolan Counties.

Under USDA guidance, movement restrictions and surveillance within the infested zone stay active for a minimum of 3 months after the final positive case.
