GLADEWATER, Texas (KLTV) - The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has fined the City of Gladewater $24,500 for three violations at the Gladewater Wastewater Treatment Plant, according to an agreed order.

The order states state regulators found the plant discharged wastewater exceeding permitted limits of pH and total suspended solids, as well as failing to file quarterly sludge-removal progress reports due April and July 2023, and filing two reports late.

The order states regulators added an additional $10,250 to the $20,500 base penalty due to 10 months of self-reported violations.
