HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- On Wednesday, Houston city leaders approved a multimillion-dollar drainage project on the city's northwest side.

"We passed a number of items, including the $12. 5 million project for Chateau Forest. It's a drainage and paving project in District A. We're really excited about that to help mitigate flooding for our residents," Houston's District A Councilmember Amy Peck said.

"That project is needed because we've had repetitive structural flooding in Chateau Forest and areas around Chateau Forest." Peck said when the project is finished, it will reduce the impact of flooding for the District A neighborhood.
